Why your booking stays protected
Charterwerk collaborates directly with operators and partners, while Stripe Connect handles every payment. Booking funds never mix with our operating cash; they move straight to the operator's connected account or remain segregated with Stripe until the contract allows release. Because Charterwerk is not the merchant of record, your trip payments are insulated from our own finances.
Stripe Connect keeps customer funds separate from Charterwerk operating cash. Deposits and balances are released only when contractual milestones are met.
Your contract is with the operator, and their verified account receives payouts under the agreed schedule. You always know who runs your boat and where the money goes.
If Charterwerk faced an issue, payments already sit with Stripe or the operator, not in our accounts. That separation reduces knock-on risk to your holiday.
