From first search to stepping aboard

Know what happens next, before you book.

A yacht booking has several milestones. Here is the real sequence, including where operator confirmation and different payment routes affect the timing.

  1. 01

    Explore freely

Search dates, destination, and crew size

You can browse current inventory and compare yachts without an account. Flexible dates help when your preferred week is unavailable.

  2. 02

    Before you commit

Review the yacht, price, and conditions

Check included equipment, mandatory extras, optional services, cancellation terms, skipper requirements, security deposit, and the amount due next.

  3. 03

    When you choose

    Continue with your verified email

We ask you to sign in or verify your email only when the booking needs an identity, saved details, or payment. Your selected yacht and dates remain attached to the flow.

  4. 04

    Payment

Follow the payment route shown at checkout

The page states whether the amount is an operator payment processed with Stripe Connect or a Charterwerk booking fee followed by a balance paid directly to the operator.

  5. 05

    Confirmation

    Wait for written operator confirmation

Payment or a hold request is not the same as a confirmed charter. The reservation becomes confirmed when the operator accepts it and written confirmation appears by email or in your account.

  6. 06

    Before departure

    Complete documents and check-in details

The operator may request crew information, licences, arrival time, transfers, provisioning, or remaining payment. Keep the operator reference and base contact details with your travel documents.

Two payment routes

The checkout tells you which route applies.

Operators do not all use the same payment setup. The amount, recipient, due dates, and refund conditions shown for your booking are authoritative.

Operator connected to Stripe

The due amount is processed through Stripe Connect for the operator’s connected account. The operator’s schedule can require a deposit, a later balance, or full payment.

Booking-fee reservation route

Charterwerk may charge the clearly displayed booking fee to arrange the operator hold and administration. After that fee is paid, you receive instructions for the charter balance payable directly to the operator.

Confirmation is a separate milestone

Do not book non-refundable travel solely because a card payment succeeded. Wait for the operator’s written confirmation and review the reference, yacht, dates, and payment schedule.

Compare offers on the same terms

Compare another quote on the same terms.

Send enough detail to separate a genuine price difference from a different service, currency, cancellation rule, or availability status.

  • 01Same yacht and professional operator
  • 02Same check-in and check-out dates
  • 03Same currency, taxes, and mandatory extras
  • 04Same included services and cancellation terms
  • 05A current, bookable quote with its timestamp
  • 06The full quote or link, not a cropped headline price

Review is not a price-match guarantee

Charterwerk will review a complete current quote and explain material differences. Review does not promise a match, refund, hold, reservation, or continued availability.

Before you sail

The useful questions to settle early.

  • 01Which skipper licence and radio certificate does this operator accept for the planned cruising area?
  • 02Which extras are mandatory, which are optional, and which must be paid at the base?
  • 03How and when is the refundable security deposit collected?
  • 04What are the operator’s cancellation and change terms?
  • 05When are the crew list, arrival time, and transfer details due?

Still unsure which payment route or yacht fits?

Ask before you pay. A specialist can help interpret the offer and identify the questions the operator still needs to answer.
